Henderson man shot for second time in last year

A 25-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being shot in the upper leg on Cross Street in Henderson, police said.

HENDERSON, N.C. — A 25-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being shot in the upper leg on Cross Street in Henderson, police said. 

Officers responding to the scene about 5:30 p.m. found Jermaine Hargrove, of Henderson, in the 400 block of Cross Street, near Orange Street. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. 

According to police, the suspect approached Hargrove on foot and fled the scene on foot following the shooting. 

Hargrove was also shot on June 6, 2012 in the 400 block of Harriett Street, about 1 mile away from the location of Wednesday's shooting. 

Robert Ross, 22, was arrested in that case and is awaiting trial in the federal court system.
