— A 25-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being shot in the upper leg on Cross Street in Henderson, police said.

Officers responding to the scene about 5:30 p.m. found Jermaine Hargrove, of Henderson, in the 400 block of Cross Street, near Orange Street. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

According to police, the suspect approached Hargrove on foot and fled the scene on foot following the shooting.

Hargrove was also shot on June 6, 2012 in the 400 block of Harriett Street, about 1 mile away from the location of Wednesday's shooting.

Robert Ross, 22, was arrested in that case and is awaiting trial in the federal court system.

Anyone with information about Wednesday's shooting should call the Henderson Police Department at 252-438-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 252-492-1925.

It would seem that someone wants this guy out of the way. I hope that they get them all before he gets shot again.

Why is this person being shot twice less than one year? Suspicious!!! Anyway, wish him a speedy recover. Years ago, I attended college with a guy from Henderson. He told me that he will never return back to Henderson because of the crime. At that time, I did not hear a lot about Henderson's crime. Now, I know he is very happy he did not return. The constant violent crimes that occuring is horrible. Yes crime is everywhere, but I never thought the small town of Henderson would become this. Note to self, I will just pass through Henderson on I-85 and don't stop for anything.

You can get shot once without part of it being your fault. But twice? Nah.

I am a resident of Henderson and trust me you don't have to do something for someone to want to hurt you around here...some people just do things out of pure evil

I live in Henderson, and it has been like this for years. The same thing, just a different day.

Every other day, we read about a shooting, robbery, rape in this town of Henderson. Is it the same person/people doing this?
