Henderson investigating string of suspected arsons

Posted May 23, 2011

— Eleven fires in Henderson since the beginning of the year are suspicious in nature and are being investigated as possible arson cases, authorities said Monday.

Henderson Fire Chief Danny Wilkerson said the two most recent fires, at vacant houses on Lamb and Lowrey streets, occurred Sunday night. Investigators found that a chemical had been used in both cases to speed the spread of the fires.

The Lamb Street house was also burned on April 27, as was an adjacent house, Wilkerson said.

The State Bureau of Investigation has been called to assist Henderson authorities with the cases.

Going to try this one more time....there is a certain person who burns down these houses and then buys them really cheap. He then fixes them up and rents them...That would be my guess....that's how it is in "Heneson"....

My guess is they are old, delapadated houses nobody wants, so poof - they're gone. No more upkeep, no more worries. Just my opinion, mind you!

We've had a fire bug here for quite a while. Glad he started burning the right buildings!

First things first. Its not Henderson, its pronounced "Heneson". LOL I learned that when I took a Notary Class at VGCC.

this isnt really a bad thing, a lot of these houses were dilapidated or abandoned and looked bad, since no one else wants to clean up the town its one way of doing it
