— Supporters lent a helping hand to the family of Cumberland County girl who drowned in early June.

The family held a fund raiser Saturday to raise money to erect a headstone for Babara Jay Lynn Dumars.

The band No Request, from Sanford, provided entertainment, and local businesses donated food and raffle prizes.

Dumars, 7, was playing with friends when she drowned in a Spring Lake pond on June 3.

Hey i am one of the ones who helped throw it and my brother gene forshey was the main one and we handed out over 2000 fliers and we also told wral like a month ago at the candel vigil that we were doing that for the Dumus Family. These plans were made about 3 or 4 days after Jaylynn passed because we know the family and knew there was no way they could come up with that much money. But you can still send donation we have an account set up for the family to help with exspenses if you would like to contact someone you can reach my brother gene forshey @910-436-2347 or myself Kimberly Rodan @919-498-2063 thanks
