For the eighth year, IHOP is giving away free short stacks on Tuesday to raise awareness and money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other charities.

For every shortstack of buttermilk pancakes served on National Pancake Day, IHOP guests are invited to make a donation to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Donations made at IHOPs in the Triangle area will benefit Duke Children's Hospital & Healthcare.

IHOP hopes to raise $3 million this year, about the same amount that was raised last year. Since the beginning of the program, National Pancake Day has raised more than $10 million and given away more than 14 million pancakes.

It's 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Tuesday. Check IHOP's website for locations.

(Full disclosure: Duke Medicine is Go Ask Mom's sponsor).
