The event, which features competitions between local chefs, raises more than $200,000 and helps the center support the more than 700 children and families it serves each year.
Starting last month, Cooking for a Classic is a friendly competition among local and regional chefs taking place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays through this month, according to a press release. The winning chef will drive away in a restored ’69 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. Guests decide who wins and moves on to the final round. Round 2 is this week. Rich Carter of Catering Works won the first round.
Here are the chefs vying for the title - and that car - this week:
March 15: Adam Pettigrew of Pup's Steakhouse vs. Troy Stauffer of City Club Raleigh
Tickets are $75. Each competition features six small plate courses with six beverage pairings. All events take place at 1705 Prime in Raleigh, 1705 E. Millbrook Rd. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. seating.
