A Go Ask Mom reader, whose daughters are American Girl doll fans, is looking for locally made, inexpensive clothes for the dolls. She'd love to give them as Christmas presents.

I thought Go Ask Mom readers might have some leads!

There are several listings for some really cute outfits on Craigslist: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/bab/3431808749.html Also, there's a woman in Raleigh who sells on Etsy, but also in local shops: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SimoneFranklin?ref=pr_shop_more "Google it" is *not* a substitute for a recommendation from someone who can vouch for quality. They're looking specifically for locally handmade (and yay for keeping it local!) and inexpensive. Thanks for taking the time to be really unhelpful, inshore123.

Southern Charm at Cary Towne Center...near Hallmark.

If you sew at all, a local mom offers patterns on her Strictly Homemade blog: http://strictly-homemade.blogspot.com/p/18-doll-patterns.html

Birdie Bs, local mom, I think she is just starting to sell them. http://www.birdiebs.com/index.html. Tell her Mac Kid sent you!!!

Also try eBay. We bought my step-daughter a Girl Scout uniform for her doll on there. Vest, shirt, shorts, and socks. for under $20.

There's alot on Etsy. Also, my mom makes them!

google it...
