Heat, sun cook weekend activities around Triangle
Saturday will again be clear and hot. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s with humidity well over 50 percent into the afternoon hours.
Posted — UpdatedSunshine will dominate the day, but WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said a handful of clouds could move in during the afternoon. Those clouds, though, won't bring any serious rain.
"There may be a couple of very isolated showers that pop up in spots this afternoon," Moss said. "I think most of us, by far, will have a dry Saturday, though."
Sunday will be partly cloudy and still very warm, but a cold front will signal change for the coming work week. A frontal system bringing more moisture and instability to eastern North Carolina could also bring scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and into Sunday evening.
By Monday, highs are only in the 80s, although the stretch of mostly clear skies and dry days continues.
