Hear it from Hutch: Local bands on the move

Hear it from Hutch: Wichita Falls

Posted April 23, 2013

Will Clinton is a lot more than just an aspiring musician.

You might catch his band, Wichita Falls, and think he has an interesting perspective and unique way of communicating though his sound.

But what you might not realize is that Will Clinton and Wichita Falls are the product of curiosity and experimentation. Both, indirectly responsible for molding the identity of several other local musicians.

Using Wichita Falls as more of an engineering resume, you can hear the talent Will Clinton has for producing a raw, pop sound that is becoming increasingly popular. Local musicians have taken notice and Clinton spends much of his free time mixing soon-to-be-released albums, all while learning his own limits for music production.

I thought Wichita Falls was a unique project, mostly due to the purity behind its creation. There is something to be said for someone who can write the music, perform the music and mix everything as well. And then, to have to courage to bust it out on a local stage is exactly what the local music scene is all about. It’s also why bands like Wichita Falls and musicians like Will Clinton can be credited with keeping the art of local music production alive, channeling an outlet for many undiscovered performers in the future.
