GREENVILLE, N.C. — Greenville nearly shuts down for East Carolina University football, it's tailgate galore everywhere you look. If you're in town for a game make sure you check out these spots for some good food and football!
One of the most uniquely popular dining, drinking and hang out spots is Sup Dogs (213 East 5th Street).

It's downtown and easy to overlook, but don't! It has everything you'd need for a perfect Saturday. We're talking every kind of burger, sandwich and hot dog, drink specials, a brand new surround sound system, lots of TVs and it's complete with outdoor seating that's dog friendly.

Sweet or spicy burgers, pigs in a blanket, cheesy tots all washed down with a cold beer or orange Crush. This spot is open late night so stop in before or after the football game.

Just across the street is Pirate's Den (113 East 5th Street) and bacon wrapped boneless chicken wings. Do I really need to say anymore? Decorated like an old pirate ship, you'll feel right at home. They have live bands Saturday evenings and are open from 11:30 a.m. until 2 a.m. Inside you'll find all the games, pool tables, plenty of food options and over 75 beers to choose from. With a children's menu, it's also kid-friendly.
Around the corner venture over to Chico's (521 Cotanche Street). Open since 1983, they say at Chico's the fiesta never stops. Get things started with Saturday drink specials half price margarita pitchers (I'm partial to their Blood Orange Margarita), $2.50 Lite Bottles, $2.99 Cuervo Shots, or if you dare That Purple Drink for $2.99. Their authentic Mexican food is just what you'll need if you're in the party mood. Kids eat free from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Check them out on Twitter @Chicos_Downtown where they keep you updated on day to day events and specials.
Relatively new to Greenville is the two-story Carolina Ale House that you won't miss if you're heading down Greenville Boulevard Southeast.

With TVs everywhere there's no way you miss any game action, pool tables, video games and an open air second story are just some of the highlights. Add in the great food and drink selections and you're set. A full menu is served from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. but get there early, they say there is often a wait on Saturdays.

I love their Asian Sesame Grilled Chicken Salad and Grilled Blackened Chicken Sandwich, but no matter what you're craving they have it.

Down the street from the Ale House is Professor O'Cools (605 Greenville Blvd SE).

O'Cools hosts ECU Pirate Football viewing parties every Saturday. The complete full-service family restaurant and bar features 31 high-quality, large-screen televisions to catch all the games. Open from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays, with live entertainment starting at 9 p.m. They have all the bar food you could ask for: special Professor spinach dip, nachos, burgers, steak, salads and sandwiches.

They are also host a Steeler's fan club on Sundays, if you're still in town.

What are you some of your favorite spots?
