Havelock man accused of running over woman's legs

A 21-year-old Havelock man was charged Saturday after police said he ran over a woman with his car, injuring her legs.

GREENVILLE, N.C. — A 21-year-old Havelock man was charged Saturday after police said he ran over a woman with his car, injuring her legs.

The woman told Greenville police that Jesse Tucker, of 218 Stancil Drive, fought her and was leaving about 2:45 a.m. when he ran her over with his vehicle. Witnesses also told police that Tucker assaulted them when they tried to stop him from hurting the woman.

The woman was taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment.

Tucker was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, driving while impaired, assault on a female and two counts of simple assault.

He was held at the Pitt County Detention Center on $3,000 secured bond.
