— A 21-year-old Havelock man was charged Saturday after police said he ran over a woman with his car, injuring her legs.

The woman told Greenville police that Jesse Tucker, of 218 Stancil Drive, fought her and was leaving about 2:45 a.m. when he ran her over with his vehicle. Witnesses also told police that Tucker assaulted them when they tried to stop him from hurting the woman.

The woman was taken to Vidant Medical Center for treatment.

Tucker was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, driving while impaired, assault on a female and two counts of simple assault.

He was held at the Pitt County Detention Center on $3,000 secured bond.

"Don't worry, pretty soon abortion will be free and readily available at clinics on every street corner. Probably even have some drive through clinics. That should fix it.

I sure hope you are right! Though I do not think the drive through idea is practical.

Lol at the political input on this article... Way to turn it around folks! Some marine runs over his friend's legs and you guys are arguing about democrats and republicans...

boneymaroney13 is a riot. It's usually Democrats who beat their wives, screw around on them, and live off of them.

This article's headline was definitely written by a Democrat. What charge is there about running over a woman's legs? The charges are explained in the body of the article, but as usual, the people writing these articles go for sensationalism over facts, as in the article about Romney's 'shaky' campaign. Media bias is present in even the most mundane news stories.

I bet this was part of the Republicans "war on women".

Alcohol, drugs...the scourge of society. People trying to have fun when the drugs hit their brain. Often, they have no recollection. 2:45 in the morning, and should all have been at home, in bed, or at work. Now, their lives are ruined. stipid...and most of all, sad. Wonder what was the real deal?
