Have You Seen This? Tumbleweeds take over Idaho road

Posted October 4, 2016

THE WILD WEST — Some states in the U.S. use snowplows to clear snow from the road. One area in Idaho has to use them for tumbleweeds.

In case you were wondering, the wild West is alive and well, particularly in Owyhee County, Idaho. Tim Tower took a video of a section of road that is being taken over by thousands of blowing tumbleweeds. With the added dramatic music, it feels like you are part of an Alfred Hitchcock horror movie.

While one or two tumbleweeds are fairly annoying but harmless, thousands of them can combine to create a massive wall of stickers. According to the video description, Tower filmed the video “just after a ‘snow’ plow made a path down the center of the road.”

It’s like the real-life version of that song from “Fievel Goes West.”

The video was posted in 2014, but has recently started going viral again.
