Have You Seen This? Things get 'looney' on Southwest flight

IN THE AIR — If you’ve heard one set of landing announcements on a flight, you’ve heard them all, right?

Tell that to attendant Zach Haumesser who recently ran through his impressive array of Looney Tunes impressions on a flight from Salt Lake to Chicago.

Haumesser does all his impressions during the landing announcements, and he doesn’t skip a beat as he jumps from impression to impression. You’ll hear everyone from Bugs Bunny (of course) and Daffy Duck to Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam. In fact, I’m pretty sure he covered pretty much everyone except Marvin the Martian and Granny.

Looney Tunes impressions aren’t the only entries on Haumesser’s resume. It turns out he’s also puppeteer with his own characters, which you can catch a glimpse of in an old audition reel he recently posted on his Facebook page.

Hopefully I get the Haumesser experience next time I fly and not my usual fare of weird smells and kicked seats.

That’s all, folks!

Southwest is the absolute BEST for entertaining pre- and post-flight announcements. I flew many times several years ago with the same flight crew and it was always amusing to listen to them; they were encouraged to be entertaining so that passengers would listen to their messages and it worked! One steward looked and sounded just like Chris Rock and he had a fantastic sense of comedic timing. Every time I fly, I hope I'll run into him again!

I love Southwest. I just flew four flights in five days and they were just regular. I miss the humor part.
