Have You Seen This? Revolving doors go wild during storm

Posted August 2

ISTANBUL — Let's talk about irrational fears.

Maybe you're afraid of confined spaces, or you have nightmares about getting stuck in an elevator. You might get chills just thinking about harmless spiders, or the thought of sitting at the top of a roller coaster sends you into a panic. We've all got a few things that give us the heebie-jeebies, no matter how much we try to talk ourselves down. Irrational fears may be irrational, but they are human.

That leads me to this: revolving doors. Yes, I have a tiny, irrational fear of revolving doors (and escalators, but let's just focus on one thing right now). This isn't the type of fear that means I'll do whatever I can to avoid revolving doors, it's just the type of fear that means I get a little nervous and want to close my eyes and take a quick breath before hopping into them.

While you might say this definitely fits into the irrational fear category, I say revolving doors are scary. If you don't believe me, watch this video.

The short clip was recorded recently in Istanbul, and it shows just what happens when no one locks the doors during a hurricane-like storm. For 19 horrifying seconds, lightning flashes outside and water crashes into the building while the revolving doors go round faster than your kid's fidget spinner. Still think my fear is irrational?

Watch the video and don't forget to lock your doors during the next storm. Oh, and comment below to share some of your irrational fears.
