Have You Seen This? 'Mixed Martial Arts and Crafts'
Posted April 20, 2016
THE OCTAGON — Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman is no wimp, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know his way around glitter glue.
In a hysterical video called “Mixed Martial Arts and Crafts,” Weidman shows us how to make a handcrafted popup card while simultaneously defeating a “vicious opponent” in a UFC octagon. Of course, the spoof is in the format of a 1980s PBS craft show, including a catchy theme song with magical chimes.
Watch as Weidman cuts octagon shapes for his card and Superman punches his way through the video. And remember kids, whether you’re crafting or UFC-ing, it’s all about safety first!
But for reals, the jokes and Weidman’s delivery are both impeccable. And “wowie-zowie,” the juxtaposition of brutal mixed martial arts moves and exclamations an 8-year-old girl in the 1950s would use is absolutely delightful.
In honor of the PBS spirit, this video is brought to you by The Kicker, a YouTube channel dedicated to “giving sports fans the funny side of sports”; the Internet, a magical place filled with useful information creatively misused by people with arguably too much time on their hands; and you the readers of KSL.com. Thank you for your support.
