Hatchet-wielding suspect in custody after allegedly taking $195 from gas station

WELDON SPRING, MO — A 30-year-old St. Louis man is facing charges after allegedly being armed with a hatchet while robbing a Weldon Springs gas station on June 7.
Jacob K. Clover entered the QuikTrip gas station, located at the corner of O'Fallon Road and Highway 94, armed with a hatchet and told the cashier to give him money from the register around 4:30 a.m., police said. He reportedly took off with around $195 from the gas station.
Clover has been charged with felony robbery and felony armed criminal action. His cash-only bond was set at $50,000.
No one was injured during the robbery.
He also allegedly robbed a Cold Stone Creamery in Creve Coeur with a hammer.
