Has 'repeat robber' struck again?

Posted October 23, 2010

— A man passed a note to a teller just after noon Saturday at the Wood Forest National Bank branch inside a Walmart on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, police said.

Surveillance in the store did not yield an immediate image of the suspect, so it is too soon to tell if the robber is the same man authorities think is responsible for a string of recent crimes.

The "Repeat Robber" has committed at least 11 robberies at banks around the Triangle over the past few weeks. He's also a suspect in a 2009 Raleigh bank robbery.

The "Repeat Robber" is described as a black man about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium-to-heavy build. He has worn a baseball cap and sunglasses to commit each of the crimes.

The bank inside of Walmart does have that rule but apparently that didnt mean anything to him...things probably happened so fast

Banks should have a rule that you are not allowed to enter with hats nor shades on. 99% of people have no reason to wear either inside. Entry into banks should be like IDs should be and that is a clear & clean image of your face.

I know that I'm going to get slammed for saying this, but the horrible cam shots are the banks faults IMO. They should invest in much better equipment. Good cameras are not that expensive now-a-days.

One another note, this guy is getting so bold that it's like he's now daring the cops to catch him. I mean who in their right mind would rob a bank at a Walmart?? It's way too busy & way too many cameras.

This may sound crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised that if soon we'll see this guy with fans. He's robbing banks without ever having to show a gun.

If this was really him then he is not very smart. Walmart has dozens of cameras in the parking lot.

Airborne - EXACTLY! At this point if they aren't able to catch him, I am almost glad he's getting away with it! If only I had the nerve... LoL

Good Question Why can't they catch him?

  • NoObamaCare Oct 25, 2010

Forget the sketches, why can't they catch this guy...when you work in a bank, or are a customer, and see a individual walk in with this guy's description and a pair of shades and hat on?! Just doesn't make sense that no one is putting 2 and 2 together! He is laughing all the way to the bank!

How come we don't have a sketch of the robbers face? We have enough bad photos of him from different angles and in one photo you can see a glimpse of his right eye over his sunglasses. Good sketches have been made with much less information.
