Coupon policy during Triple Coupons:

* HT begins tripling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale (April 24). 24 hour stores do not triple coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has always worked in the past).

* HT will triple coupons worth up to .99 face value. A .75 coupon will triple to $2.25. A $1.00 coupon will not triple at all and will only be taken at face value ($1.00).

* HT will triple up to 20 coupons per household, per day. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. You can use more than 20 coupons per day, but only 20 will triple per day no matter how many stores you go to.

* HT policy is to triple up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five .75 coupons for a product, the policy is to only triple the first three.

* HT policy is to triple up to 2 printable coupons for the same item per store, per day.

* The Harris Teeter policy is that they do not double or triple Do Not Double coupons. With that said, some will automatically double of triple when scanned, if the store allows it (which many Harris Teeter stores allow). But, if a coupon indicates Do Not Double or Triple, do not be surprised if it does not.

* Remember that many of the best deals fly off the shelves early on the first day of an event like this. Your best bet is to find out when the next truck comes in by asking customer service. You can also get rainchecks for those sale items that are out of stock and use them at a later date. Your coupon will not Triple if it is not during a Triple coupon week, when using a raincheck, but you will still be able to get the sale price.

* Make sure you watch the register closely to verify that all your coupons have scanned correctly. It is much easier to correct a coupon error at the register than to deal with it later that day when you finally look over the receipt.

The full Harris Teeter coupon policy can be found on their website.

HT has the Chicken of the Sea No Drain flavored canned tuna on sale this week 2 for $3. I had a couple of $.50 printable coupons (I think from their FB page a while back), and they said Do Not Double on them, but mine tripled, which meant 2 cans free.

  • askwiggy Apr 28, 2013

Ht in Carthage had the larger french's onion buy one get one. With the coupon they were free. Still have plenty too!

  • smolder13 Apr 25, 2013

stephiec-Thanks for letting me know. I'm surprised it doubled since it had the new barcode and said DND. I thought those were supposed to be coded to automatically not double/triple, etc...

  • stephiec Apr 24, 2013

    smolder13--
the coupon didn't triple b/c that would've given you overage but it did double up to the $1

  • dawnl39 Apr 24, 2013

Smuckers jam is on sale for $2, .75/1 coupon (sorry don't remember what insert) makes it free. There is also a .75/1 Welches jelly coupon that makes the jelly .54 ;)

  • chichimama Apr 24, 2013

I don't remember where I got the couponn (it was a printable), but I had two 75 cents off a Lance Extra Fulls pack of cr*ckers, and those were included in the 2/$6 sale, so 75cents each. BY THE WAY, Wral wouldn't let me use the word cr*ckers!

  • smolder13 Apr 24, 2013

stephiec-Did your Hidden Veggie pasta coupon triple? I noticed that it said DND, so I didn't even bother to try it. I ended up putting the pasta back because I didn't want to pay .45 cents for it if it wasn't going to triple. That sounds really sad, doesn't it? Not wanting to pay 45 cents for something...lol.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 24, 2013

Updated the list again with a number of additional deals based on your brag thread posts. Thanks for the info!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 24, 2013

Thanks Steph - I was happy to see that this morning at the store. They only had one more on the shelf - but I got that one for free! :-) I will add it to the list.

  • stephiec Apr 24, 2013

one freebie not on the list is the muellers hidden veggie pasta. It's on sale for $1 and there was a 55 cents off coupon in a recent insert. Not sure which one since I cut all of mine out!
