Coupon policy during Super Doubles:

* HT will be Super Doubling coupons worth up to $2 face value. This means that a $1.50 coupon will double to $3.00, $1.00 coupon will double to $2.00 and a $2.00 coupon will double to $4.00!

* HT begins super doubling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not super double coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has always worked in the past).

* HT will super double/double up to 20 coupons per household per day. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. If you have twenty $1 coupons and twenty .75 coupons, only 20 total will double. They will not double 20 coupons that are under $1 and also super double another 20 coupons that are over $1. It's 20 total coupons doubled per day.

* HT policy is to double up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five $1.00 coupons for a product, the policy is to only super double the first three. They will accept 2 printable coupons per like item, per store, per day, according to their policy.

I STILL have my Cabot q's...YES!!!

And yes, every SD/Triples there is usually one or two items that sell out quickly & the warehouse is unable to restock...get rainchecks. I think the three coupon limit is fair... (with that being said I am NOT a supporter of the multiple VIC card goobers that are taking advantage of the system. Get rainchecks...they never expire and coupons cycle, and a great sale combination will eventually come along. Like Faye, I do have a binder & calculator (no laptop or smartphone, though), that does not mean that we are all crazies!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Oct 29, 2012

Thanks to everyone for posting your comments about HT SD today. Lack of stock and "crazy get out of my way or I'll run you over type of couponers" (as Amanda wrote) are definitely very frustrating.

I am grateful that we have this forum to vent that frustration and equally as thankful that Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods are offering such wonderful promotions this week!

Linda - I agree, between the Kroger baking sale and the SD promos, I am going to be well stocked for the holidays!

  • Nanee Lion Oct 29, 2012

I am so excited between HT super doubles, Lowe's super doubles and the great deals at Kroger. I am getting ready to celebrate the upcoming holidays with lots of fun and food. Thank God for Faye who helps us so much with all her hours of work to post our deals. Thanks Faye, Your're the greatest!!

  • heremeaj Oct 29, 2012

One issue w HT is that they do not restock because they are out at the warehouse and have no more product. Their buyers need to be more aware of demand during promotions. It seems we are all expecting that they want to get us all the specials. The coupon events are loss leaders to get us in the store and they get us in the store whether we get all the deals or not. They achieve their purpose either way. I have some RC that will combine nicely this time w Q's to make my own sales. Sometimes when I hear my friends who do not have an HT talk about shopping I realize how spoiled we really are - HT does an overall great job and they are very customer oriented.

  • ctya Oct 29, 2012

Most of the times I also get to the store last, but I have found if I ask a stocker for an item they will check the back to see if they have the item(s). Just ask! Also ask when the next truck is due and when the stock will be put out. The store in Fuqay and on 1010 are really nice if you just ask. Hope this helps.

  • heremeaj Oct 29, 2012

The cashier should call a manager when someone trots out all those phone numbers. The manager in my HT said that after someone does that he makes sure that they link those accounts together so they are BUSTED for having so many VIC cards. It is rude and does impact others.

I also agree with grafted below. My mother in law is 89 years old and I shop for her. It is one thing for me to shop for her on her card, quite another for me to get multiple cards for myself. HT does not generally have as good an idea as they could about what coupons are out there that may be heavily promotional and create a rush for product. And frankly, I have only gone once or twice to many SD or Triples because there just were not enough deals to justify extra trips.
