Harris Teeter Super Doubles Coupon Policy Basics:

* HT will be Super Doubling coupons worth up to $2 face value. This means that a $1.00 coupon will double to $2.00, a $1.50 coupon will double to $3.00 and a $2.00 coupon will double to $4.00!

* HT begins super doubling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not super double coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has always worked in the past). Your best bet is to get to the store before 7 am if you want to get the freebies and best deals. Some people get there at 6:15 am or earlier and then wait in line until the register allows coupons to begin Super Doubling at 7 am.

* HT will super double/double up to 20 coupons per household per day. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. If you have twenty $1 coupons and twenty .75 coupons, only 20 total will double. They will not double 20 coupons that are under $1 and also super double another 20 coupons that are over $1. It's 20 total coupons that are $2 or less doubled per day.

* HT policy is to double up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five $1.00 coupons for a product, the policy is to only super double the first three. The other 2 will be accepted at face value.

* Printable coupons: HT will accept 3 printable coupons per like item, per store, per day, according to their policy. So if you buy 3 identical items and you have a printable coupon for each one, you can use all three.

* New Raincheck policy as of March 29: Harris Teeter will no longer let customers combine a raincheck with a coupon for the same item. In addition, rainchecks now expire 60 days after they are issued.

* If your store is out of your favorite deals (and they will be out of some of them) ask the customer service folks when the next truck arrives so you know when they will be restocking.

* Enjoy the deals you are able to get and please remember that many of the best deals will sell out quickly. The stores will reorder those items, but often, the warehouse runs out so they cannot get the stock. Please be nice to the store employees as it is not their fault if items are out of stock. And if you are excited about your great deals, give Harris Teeter a call at their Customer Service number, send them an e-mail via their website or post a comment to their Facebook page to thank them. Happy Shopping!

GJan1 - we had a much better experience, as you can tell. So sorry yours was so difficult.

  • GJan1 Oct 1, 11:09 a.m.

Faye - Glad to hear things are going so well with you and your Dad. I guess in home PT is different in the triangle. My Dad fell and broke his hip, had a hemi-arthroplasty, spent 4 weeks in a rehab facility, had PT at home for about 6 weeks, then went to PT at the hospital for a couple of months. PT at the hospital wanted him to come three times a week (they want you to come as often as they can get paid), but we chose twice a week. He didn't want to pay 57 cents a mile for the caretaker to drive him and he didn't want her to drive his vehicle. So I had to haul both of them to PT and she was paid for doing nothing. The #1 thing he and I have argued is how little caretaker does and could do more. It hit the fan one day at PT when she almost ran into him because she had her nose stuck in her iPhone. You have to train these people. They say they are trained but I don't know what? They are not even CNA's. Daddy complained to me because his clothes were linty - washed with towels!

Faye, you are providing the info... whether it is typed or linked really is not important.

Thanks again for the many hours of your hard work.

  • Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Oct 1, 9:31 a.m.

GJan1 - Finding time to do the SD list for these 3 day sales has been an issue for a very long time and I need to find ways to strike a better balance. This is one of them. Thanks so much for your concern, but my dad's care is not the issue. He should be able to drive again by the end of next week and his PT will be over then as well. They only do in home PT for a couple weeks after hip replacement. His recovery has been great and he has been so gracious and kind about my helping him. Both my brothers live in other states so he's stuck with just me. :-) It's been so nice to spend this time with him and I'm thankful that I am able to do it.

  • GJan1 Oct 1, 12:07 a.m.

Faye - I understand all too well. Parent care can be all consuming. If your Dad has long term care insurance, they will pay for a caretaker like Home Instead. They do personal care, can take to appointments, can pick up prescriptions, light house work, etc. Your Dad is probaby like my Dad and prefers YOU do everything, but it's just not possible. I was having to cancel my appointments to make his. You have to take care of you. You are lucky to have at least one sibling that will help. Let him come do more or he can pay for a caretaker at least a few hours a week to give you a break. I don't know if LTC insurance will pay if he is not in his home. Your coupon entourage will be fine. I am just concerned for your well being. That older generation has no problem with "the women" running themselves to death while the males do nothing. My father has no problem with his son never coming but his son can call for money anytime. The proverbial prodigal son. Why did PT stop coming?

  • Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Sep 30, 10:26 p.m.

jdouglas13 - Thanks, but actually, as you can probably tell, I put less hours in to that one than in the past. I simply had too much going on this week (and pretty much every Super Doubles week) to devote 4+ hours to a 3-day sale that will be sold out in many stores in a few hours. That's why I have partnered with Nikki at TheHarrisTeeterDeals.com to link to her very long and extensive list. She does a great job with HT deals every week and during Super Doubles from now on, I'll be making a list of my fav. top deals and then linking to her for the rest of them. I hope you all understand. :-)

  • jdouglas13 Sep 30, 5:17 p.m.

Thanks for all the hard work and many hours that went into that list.
