Harris Teeter Super Doubles confirmed for 1/7!

Posted January 3, 2015

Harris Teeter

Great news! Harris Teeter will be offering their awesome Super Doubles event starting Wednesday, January 7, according to multiple local stores! Time to get those coupons clipped and ready to go!

The promotion will run from Wednesday, January 7 through Tuesday, January 13, 2015.

I will have an initial deals list posted sometime this weekend. There will be FOUR coupon inserts in the Sunday paper on January 4 including 2 SmartSource and 2 RedPlum! You can see more details on the coupons to expect from CouponPreview.info.

And please remember that even though the stores confirmed the event, corporate can cancel it at any time, which has happened before. If anything changes, I will let you know.

Coupon policies and tips for shopping Harris Teeter Super Doubles:

* HT should be Super Doubling coupons worth up to $2 face value. This means that a $1.00 coupon will double to $2.00, a $1.50 coupon will double to $3.00 and a $2.00 coupon will double to $4.00!

* HT begins super doubling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not super double coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has always worked in the past). Your best bet is to get to the store before 7 am if you want to get the freebies and best deals. Some people get there at 6:15 am or earlier and then wait in line until the register allows coupons to begin Super Doubling at 7 am.

* HT will super double/double up to 20 coupons per household per day. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. If you have twenty $1 coupons and twenty .75 coupons, only 20 total will double. They will not double 20 coupons that are under $1 and also super double another 20 coupons that are over $1. It's 20 total coupons that are $2 or less doubled per day.

* HT policy is to double up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five $1.00 coupons for a product, the policy is to only super double the first three. The other 2 will be accepted at face value.

* Printable coupons: HT will accept 3 printable coupons per like item, per store, per day, according to their policy. So if you buy 3 identical items and you have a printable coupon for each one, you can use all three.

* Be sure to get rainchecks for the items that are on sale and out of stock. Rainchecks at Harris Teeter do not expire so you can use them at the next Super Doubles if you have coupons to go with them (which often happens). If you get a rain check during Super Doubles and use the rain check the next week, your $1 - $2 coupons will not be Super Doubled. You will still get the sale price, but unless you use the rain check during a Super Doubles week, the coupons will be accepted per their usual coupon doubling policy (.99 or less).

* If your store is out of your favorite deals (and they will be out of some/many of them) ask the customer service folks when the next truck arrives so you know when they will be restocking.

* Remember that there are no Harris Teeter digital coupons available at this time. The new digital coupon program begins in mid-January.

* Enjoy the deals you are able to get and please remember that many of the best deals will sell out quickly. The stores will reorder those items, but often, the warehouse runs out so they cannot get the stock. Please be nice to the store employees as it is generally not their fault if items are out of stock. Happy Shopping!

Now I am disappointed....I had planned to utilize the Wilson H.T. for my shopping trip this time because I never have any luck at the Rocky Mount store.

I emptied my coupon binder of all the expired coupons yesterday and now am feeling like this will not be a very successful SDs. Anyone else feeling the same?

received rainchecks on all my EVIC specials this weekend for the HT in Wilson When I get the rain check the girl upfront stated she wasn't surprised they were out. I also noticed on the door, they has several positions open for HELP in numerous depts. I wonderful if it has anything to do with Kroger ownership???

Maybe this year will be a better year for SD & TD. I started couponing last Feb and there were not any TD since I've started. I guess we'll see!

msgooch2000 - I have seen the ad rules & various stores are posting notices that it was a misprint regarding the BOGO and only 1 coupon issue. I will be contacting corporate tomorrow about it.

Soerandomguy - they put up different rules for super doubles. The coupon policy will change on Wed morning and you will see the Super Doubles coupon policy on their website. But there is a list of SD rules in the ad starting Wed.

For those who don't know, the new ad has the Super Doubles rules in them. One of the rules is that you can't get a raincheck for out of stock items. That rule has been in the SD policy for a while now and no stores adhere to it. I was told it was because they were not supposed to give rainchecks for the super doubles price after coupon but could give rainchecks for the sale price.

The ad also indicates that only one coupon can be used in a BOGO deal. I understand that some stores have already put up signs that it is a misprint. I should know more tomorrow.

I see the post in one of the Facebook groups with a picture of what the SD "rules" are in the circular. HOWEVER, I am looking directly at HTs coupon policy on their website and do not see anything that has changed.

  • msgooch2000 Jan 4, 2015

Faye: copies of the SD ad are being posted on the FB groups, showing the "new" coupon policy for SD under it. Not sure if you have seen it, but anything you can do to confirm what the groups are saying are changes would be appreciated.

phattyjean - they actually included wording to that effect in their super doubles coupon policy a while ago, but every HT I have shopped during the last few super doubles events has issued rainchecks for the sale prices, just not the sale price after doubled coupon. It is not in their regular coupon policy so you have to wait to see the ad or the policy online during super doubles to see it. I think they are letting people know that their coupons will not be super doubled during a non-super double week, even if they have a raincheck written during a super double week.
