Harris Teeter Super Doubles brag thread!

Posted April 28, 2014

Faye's Harris Teeter Super Doubles shop for $1.89!

Here's the place to post your Super Doubles register totals and all your favorite deals! Feel free to share any crazy Super Doubles shopping stories while you are at it! Good luck to everyone and have fun!  You can see the main deals list at the link above.

If you are pleased with your shopping experience, it's always a nice gesture to call the HT corporate number and thank them for offering the promotion. If your store did a good job with customer service, share that information as well.

I shopped at Harris Teeter Wednesday morning and you can see all the items I bought in the photo above.  Here are my totals:

My subtotal before sales and coupons was $94.77

Amount saved: $92.88

Paid: $1.87

Savings: 98%!

I used coupons for each item and then also used a $2 Catalina coupon from Harris Teeter and a CVS Extrabucks competitor's coupon. You can see the coupon match-ups for each of the items on the Super Doubles deals list link above.

The Werther's Sugar Free $1.00/1 coupon is available again on their Facebook page! They are $2.49 at Harris Teeter right now so only .49 after coupon through today!

    I agree, Nstutt!

I hope everyone has a good last day of Super Doubles. I won't be heading to HT but I hope that if you do, you find plenty of great deals!

As they say, all good things have to come to an end. If Kroger and Lowes stopped their coupon events because it was not profitable, it just goes to reason that HT was will stop theirs too. Keep in mind that Fool Lion ran a super doubles event last year and have not done it since. So it certainly seems like this benefits us shoppers but not the stores. And few other chains around the country do it either. Just have to hope they at least continue doubling coupons up to 99 cents so we can get deals every now and then.

Beth - Sadly, I have heard that rumor from 2 other blog readers now. The mgr I spoke with yesterday said she was told there would not be changes for 18 months, but I'm not so sure. We'll know for sure in the next 1-2 moths.

I went to the customer service desk at the Clayton location late this afternoon. The Mgr. on duty was Mr. Root. He told me that he thought this is the last Super Double that they would be having. He said he was hearing lots of talking and that super doubles benefits the store in no way at all. Kinda put a damper at the end of what had been a great shopping experience. After reading what you posted Faye, I sure hope he is misinformed.

Am done too after another visit today. Got the crunchmaster craaackers among a few other things. Thanks to the person who pointed out where they could be found. Forget who it was and with so many threads to look into, I don't feel like digging thru here for it. Only item I did not get during the course of SDs was the Fisher nuts. This item sells out quickly every time it is a deal in SDs. I would call it the most popular SD item.

I had printed coupons from Reynold's website and I too, like you, go through a lot of it. So even though there was no sale on any of it, bought what I needed that I had coupons for :)
Have not done tomatoes yet - will do so when I can get good tomatoes that are not hothouse and probably from local growers. That season will be upon us soon and I'll be double timing that poor dehydrator LOL As it is I went from 4 trays to 8 trays (which the dehydrator can do) - saw right away that I wanted/needed more capacity for the volume of what I wanted to do!

I finally made it to SD yesterday in Clayton. I was more focused on buying some stuff I needed specifically and had good coupons for, and bought some produce and noncoupon sales items. I ended up saving 50%, and was very happy that I was able to get some childrens' Benadryl for the $20 rebate deal. I ended up giving the Benadryl (minus the box for the barcodes) to a mom with a couple of little kids as I was leaving, so it was a win-win.

PR, is there a deal on Reynolds foil? I still have some good coupons and go through a ton of that stuff. Also, did you dry tomatoes yet?

Glad you got a chance to talk with a manager :) I think we can breathe easier for a while anyway :)

After SD's the only thing I really need to concentrate on the next couple weeks are fruits and veggies (for the dehydrator LOL)
OH MY GOODNESS! I made zucchini chips, sprinkled lightly with sea salt and dehydrated them (cut 1/16" thick). They dried very quickly (put them in around 9pm last night and they are done already and they are AWESOME! I'm snacking on some right now.
Actually, my plate is a few slices of zucchini, pineapple, oranges, and apple chips :) Satisfies the need for crunch AND sweet. Oh, this just doesn't get any better - my doctor will be thrilled :)

privilegesrevoked - great job on your savings today and during the week of Super Doubles! You scored a ton of stuff for $128! Thanks for sharing. :-) I think I am done with SD for this event. I went again yesterday and that was it for me.

I did speak to an HT manager yesterday who said that she was told there would not be changes for at least the first 18 months after the sale to Kroger in January. Hopefully that means we will have at least another year of Super Doubles events!
