Harris Teeter Super Doubles brag thread!

Posted July 12, 2013

Here's the place to share your great register totals, funny stories, coupon disasters and all things Super Doubles at Harris Teeter this week!

Let's hear it - how did you do?

Here are the totals from my shopping trip at the Hwy 401 and Ten Ten Rd. store this morning (Garner/Fuquay area). I was very happy with the number of healthier items and bath & beauty products I purchased for just over $5.00!

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $81.95

Total saved: $76.80

Total paid: $5.15

% saved: 94%

I bought the items in the photo above including 2 dozen eggs, mayo, Green Giant veggie chips, Hellman's mayo, Electrosol tabs, Uncle Ben's rice, Suave body wash, Always, Tampax, Head & Shoulders, MorningStar veggie burgers (using $1 coupons ordered online and the Catalina deal is still going on for them), Alexia organic frozen carrots, Yopa Greek yogurt, Silk fruit & protein milk.

I used a number of rain checks and a competitor's coupon as well as coupons for everything except for the eggs.

I don't have a ton of additional coupons for this event so I will probably go back one or two more times in the next week to pick up a few things.

Happy shopping everyone!

I did pretty well this time around considering I waited until the 4th day of the sale to go and I've already used most of the good coupons out of the paper with all the SD events recently.

I got 6 boxes of Mueller's pasta, 3 bags of Alexia organic frozen vegetables, 1 Tampax Pearl, 1 Tampax, and 1 Simply Lemonade with Raspberry.

    Spent $2.08 Saved $29.95 (94%)

I knew I should have picked up more cottage cheese,my son have eaten both containers I picked up yesterday. I stopped by the HT on the way home tonight and they are out. I will swing by the one at Cameron on the way home from work tomorrow, but I did of course get a raincheck. They also drank almost the entire gallon of milk I picked up yesterday too.

Second super doubles trip. OOP was 23.26, saved 31.44 (57.5%). I picked up a package of Schick Quattro razors, 3 packs of Cra*ker Jacks, 1 box Cadbury Ice Cream bars, 2 Front Porch Ice Cream, 4 dozen Eggs, 1 gallon milk, 2 Dawn dish liquids (to bath the dog, it works well on fleas), and 2 Hormel refrigerated entrees. All my coupons doubled and my zvr came off no problem.

Great deal, phyllis! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks to everyone for continuing to share your great deals and experiences. I have only been once this week but hope to get to HT on Monday for one more trip.

I while back a bought a box of cereal I think it was cinnamon toast crunch and their were five or six coupons on the back one was $1.00 of 10 Yoplait yogurt so I used it today at HT on their weekend special $.37 each, bought 10 for $3.70 coupon doubled to $2.00 and their was a $.45 evic coupon off 6, also $.45 saving star so if I figured this up right 10 Yoplait yogurts ended up costing me $.80 check your cereal boxes you may have gotten the coupons also.

Got another $80+ for only $23! Love this SDs! Found out I've been paying too much for the Zest body wash at the family dollar store. I could have been getting it at HT for 11 cents less with SDs so I got 3 today. Ugh! Wish I had grabbed more than 2 of the $2 off old spice body spray when I was at Krogers last week. It makes them free at HT this week and my parents love old spice anything. got 3 H&S shampoo, 3 Colgate mouthwase (rain chk), 2 pepsi 12pk, 3 scrub free, 3 Zest body wash, 3 Purina Cat Chow, 1 Old Spice body spray.

I spent a little over $12 OOP and saved more than $17, using no coupons and no zvrs. I got two 12 packs of pepsi products, 2 lysol wipes (could have printed a coupon if the printer was working), 1 gallon of milk, two containers of HT cottage cheese and some summer squash. I would have picked up some frozen stuff except one of my kids friends put some things in my freezer the other day since he spends so much time here and now there is no room for the stuff I was going to get.

DianeNC: I guess you could use them @ HT. I don't remember if they had "manufacturer coupon" or "redeem only @ FL" on them". Next time I get some I may try them @ HT, thanks for letting me know!

  • DianeNC Jul 13, 2013

ncveteranswife - if the FL Catalinas say "Manufacturer Coupon" on them (which I believe they all do, no?) and don't say "Redeemable Only At Food Lion" you can use them at HT. I checked with HT's customer service first before doing so yesterday, and not only did both of mine work, but they even doubled! (Which CS said they shouldn't, but seem to always do, LOL.)

sunshine1040 - I have a Food Lion within walking distance of where I live, but most of my visits there are just to use their coupon machine to get manufacturer coupons that I can take up the road to use at my nearby Harris Teeter.

Although before coupons their prices are higher than Food Lion, with HT's double couponing (currently super doubling), and allowing their customers to "stack" manufacturer coupons with their electronic coupons, especially with their sales, there's no comparison - and that's without doing any "extreme couponing".

True, they'll run of out of certain popular sale items at the beginning of a sale, like any store would, but as scoutmomof2 posted, each store gets in trucks several times a week, so it's usually not a problem. It they don't get the sale item before the sale is over, just grab a rain check (theirs don't expire.)
