Posted May 31, 2013

Here's the place to share your fabulous super doubles totals, shopping adventures, horror stories and shout-outs to fellow smart shoppers! Let's hear it!

**Warning**: The savings you are about to read below from your fellow shoppers may cause dizziness or fainting due to their extreme nature. You way want to have a seat before proceeding.

Here are my totals for the coupon items I purchased. You can see them in the picture above. They are not nearly as amazing as some of you this week, but I am pleased considering the products I bought.

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $77.87

Amount saved: $69.32

Amount paid: $8.55

% saved: 89%

Items purchased include :

3 Smart Balance Milk

2 Bear Naked granola cereal

2 Newtons

4 No Yolk noodles

6 Barilla pasta boxes

2 Pantene shampoo/conditioner

2 Land O Lakes butter

2 Chobani Greek yogurt multipacks

2 Tyson chicken tenders (using BOGO raincheck & $1 coupons from sale last week)

2 M&M single packs (using .50/2 coupon from tearpad found over a month ago)

In a separate transaction, I also purchased carrots, zucchini yellow squash, cucumbers and mushrooms for an additional $6.01. I split them up so I could easily see the coupon savings.  I am looking forward to at least one more trip to super doubles this week when I am in Raleigh for the blog picnic on Saturday!

2nd SD trip done and saved 67%! Picked up my free Head & Shoulders (moneymaker!!!), Chinet Cups, and Milky Way (used the Dr. Pepper & 3 Musketeers/Milky Way coupon .75/1). Got money back and 2 free Dole Parfaits/Fruit Cups since the two I picked up yesterday on clearance were wayyyy expired. Also picked up 2 Digiorno Pizzeria Pizzas for $1 each with an RC I had from the last BOGO sale. I'm very happy!

We finally made it to HT for SD today at 401-1010, but they were out of a lot of what I was looking for, or the prices weren't quite good enough. However, in the end I was pretty happy with a 50% savings as we bought a LOT of meat and shrimp, eggs, cereal, ice cream, ricotta, brown rice, baguettes, fresh vegetables, chocolate and other necessities using a combination of sales, coupons, and rainchecks.

Probably the deal I was most happy with was using a combination of a BOGO RC and 2 $1 coupons on two packages (2 per pack)of pork tenderloin. Original amount was $35.58, OOP was $13.79.

halfandhalf07 - you're right, it was a $0.50/2 coupon (not $0.55)...sorry about that! :) But you're right, still ended up being only $0.18 for the two bars. Can't beat that!

There's also a coupon on you might be interested in for $0.75 off when you buy one 20 oz. Dr. Pepper and either a 3 Musketeers or Milky Way single bar. With the coupon doubling to $1.50 and the candy bars on sale for $0.59, not a bad deal either. (You only have to buy one candy bar with the soda for this coupon.)

I had a very good SD run this morning, had exactly 20 coupons to double, and only two of my items were not in stock.

My freebies included 2L Pepsi Next (FB coupon that I rec'd this week), Fiber One Chewy Bars & Pillsbury Toaster Strudel(ZVR freebies), and a Hormel Compleats.

Cheapies (under $1): Dole Fruit Parfait Peaches (clearance), Fig Newtons, Pure Leaf Sweet Tea, THREE Head & Shoulders Shampoos ($2/1 in June P&G = 99 cents each!), 2 Front Porch Ice Creams (24 cents each w/$2/1 in tomorrow's RP), and 2 Hungry Jack Pancake Mix boxes (97 cents each w/$1/2 in tomorrow's RP).

Total before coupons & savings: $161.72
    Total OOP: $61.46
    62% savings!

I'm very happy with that since it also included some markdown meat to add to my freezer! Going again tomorrow for some more deals!

DianeNC, how did you find the $0.55/2 Q for the 3 Musketeers bars? The one I see is .50/2, which is still a pretty fantastic deal.

I did some overnight HT shopping at a few different local stores last night - best time to go if you're not a morning person and don't like dealing with crowds! All seemed to still be totally out of the Jolly Time popcorn (one's free with $0.75 doubled coupon). One piece of good news, though, is that the HT on the corner of Tryon Road/Walnut Street had got restock on the Frebreze Air Effects spray which is on sale, but free with the current $1.50 manufacturer coupon for this product.

On one of my trips, I was able to grab three of those, plus two 3 Musketeers bars for just $0.35. (The 3 Musketeers bars are on sale for $0.59, but end up being free with the Internet coupon for $0.55/2 doubled.)

I'd love to share how much I paid overall, how much I save, and what percentage, but have no idea how everyone figures that out (math is definitely not my strong point, LOL.)

HT at Cameron Village had the Yopa 4 packs but no single cups. It was out of alot of stuff like hanover baked beans which I really wanted. Still, I got another $70 of stuff for only $20. Still didn't get all I wanted but... there's still a few more days.

Got 13 bottles of All detergent at Kroger yesterday and today for only $1.99 for those who like All and have the coupons. There was an internet Q for it also. Also got 5 Crest toothpastes for free! They have a Crest $1 off E coupon so you'll want to load that to your card and go get your free Crest before the sale is off.

The HT at Falls of Neuse and Durant has Chobani Bite 4-packs but no Chobani tubes or Yopa 4-packs.

If you printed the buy 2 Neutrogena products, get $2 off coupon from a little while ago, there is no exclusion for trial/travel sizes. I found little Neutrogena soap bars in the travel sizes section at 2/$3, so free after coupon.

Don't forget to go through any rainchecks you may have from previous sales when items were out of stock and see if you have any matching coupons. I had rainchecks for Eight O'Clock, Caribou and Seattle's Best coffees, matched them up with current coupons, and got 12 oz bags for $1.43, $0.97 and $1.99 each, respectively, after the rain checks and doubled coupons. A delightful bonus in addition to the great prices is that all the flavors/varieties are in stock while products are not on sale. THANKS HT for your generous never expiring rain check policy!
