Harris Teeter discontinues weekly Meal Deals

Posted April 24

Harris Teeter

If you enjoyed the weekly Harris Teeter Meal Deals, you are going to be disappointed with their latest change.

As of the ad last week, Harris Teeter is no longer offering the Meal Deals.

They posted this statement on their Facebook page: "Unfortunately we're no longer offering our Meal Deal offer. While this promotion no longer exists, we are excited to continue to bring other deals, such as our buy 5 save 5, b2g3 and stock up and saves. We look forward to offering our customers the best deals possible, and will definitely escalate your comments to our senior management team. Thank you for shopping with us, and have a good day."

This comes just weeks after they made significant changes to their Raincheck policy. As of March 29, shoppers can no longer combine a raincheck with a paper coupon. And rainchecks now expire in 60 days. See more details on this policy change at the link above.

Are you disappointed that they have discontinued the Meal Deals?

It seems like every time there was a meal deal in the last few months, local store were out of one or more items.

I didn't take advantage of the Meal Deal very often, but it feels like one more change in a series of changes. Currently my normal shopping is split between HT and Aldi (I hope the Garner remodeling is finished soon!!) if the changes keep coming, I might give up on HT. If, and I know a huge if, doubling was discontinued... yeah it would be Aldi only lol.

I have bought the weekly Meal Deals before. I especially liked the one with Stouffers. It was actually a really good deal.

Thanks for your feedback, everyone! Will be interesting to see if there are more changes in store any time soon.

No, not disappointed in the Meal Deals no longer being offered. They weren't a 'deal' to me - always could do better with coupons and sales.

Now the 'raincheck' situation - yes, very disappointed no being able to use coupons with rainchecks - doesn't make any rational sense at all!! I have already started shopping at HT less.

CouponsAreFoundMoney re customer loyalty: I really agree with you! Since Kroger bought HT, they are slowly chipping away at everything that made HT unique. Soon, it will be just another store.

They're really targeting 'customer loyalty' with all the changes, deciding it's not important.
