Harris Teeter Coupon Policy Basics:

Doubles coupons .99 or less everyday

Doubles up to 20 coupons per day

Doubles up to 3 identical coupons (must have required product to go with each coupon)

BOGO sales ring up at half price. If you just buy one, it still rings up at half price. You can use a coupon on each item in a BOGO deal. So, if you buy 2 items that are BOGO, you can use two coupons (which is a very good thing!).

The official Harris Teeter Coupon Policy can be found on their website.

Senior discount: Seniors 60 and older receive a 5% discount every Thursday. Discount applies after coupons are deducted.

e-coupons: Don’t forget to add the e-coupons to your Harris Teeter VIC card and remember, you can stack the e-coupons (also known as ZVR coupons) with manufacturer coupons to maximize savings. The link to your e-coupons are in your Wednesday e-Vic e-mail. Sign up for e-Vic digital coupons on their website. You can also add the e-coupons to your Vic card through your account at HarrisTeeter.com. Remember that not everyone gets the same ZVR coupons. If I have a ZVR digital coupon listed below, it does not mean that you have it available in your digital coupons.

The BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) sale prices listed below are the sale prices.

"G-U-M Crayola toothbrush, 2 count, BOGO for $1.49 each" - according to the store at 401/1010, these are not on BOGO (not marked on the shelf or Express Lane as BOGO)

I forgot to mention it doesn't have to be a university --- any community college ID or other schools (nursing school, etc) qualify for the discount. I'd imagine for some of you with older kids, ex: some dual enrolled in HS/college, if they have a college ID and live at your house, I'd assume you could have them add the discount to your family VIC card.

All he did was look at my college ID, and take my VIC card to the computer and type the VIC number onto a spreadsheet, which he said is emailed to corporate which adds the discount to it. It does take a few days to be added FYI

Im sorry for forgetting to re-update my post... I was so tired last night it skipped my mind when I left the grocery store. 'coupon nana' was kind enough to mention the specifics a few posts below this.

I did find out today that not all HT are participating. I know the Harris Teeter on 9th street in Durham & HT on MLK blvd in Durham ARE participating, however the HT in North Durham on Guess Rd/Horton Rd in Durham is NOT participating in this promo. According to the manager, it's a corporate decision & for some reason they didn't include all HTs. Kinda strange because Duke isn't too far from the Horton rd HT.

I saw the sign on the entrance doors, & at the CS desk. If you don't see them at your HT, odds are they aren't participating, but it maybe worth asking. But lots of colleges are around the triangle area so I assume a good amount of stores are taking part. Inquire with mgmt if you can add it to your VIC

Faye - VLYNN posted about the HT college student discount at Cameron Village HT about a week ago. Having twin grandsons at NCSU, I contacted HT CS at Cameron Village. The discount is for the college school year not calendar year. It is attached to Vic card like senior discount. But, student discount is EVERY day! 5% discount overall with 10% discount for a specific initial period in August and September! HT said this is not new.

Student registers Vic card with college id.

Our home HT in Apex does not, at this time, honor the student discount. So YMMV. Appears to be in immediate college areas only.

We are very happy they will have the discount at college. They like to cook and they love to eat LOTS of food!

Thanks, Faye, VLYNN, and REALSTORY for making this cost saving college information available on this blog!!!

The HT at Durant and Falls of Neuse had the Jif spread in caramel and mocha as of yesterday afternoon.

RealStory - some stores are not allowing ZVR's to give overages. My stores always do, but other readers have posted that their stores did not allow it.

Thanks for the student discount info. What store did you see this at?

  • wral suks bauls Aug 27, 2014

Btw it's worth mentioning any students or folks with a college ID, bring both to CS desk and have them register you as a college student. You will receive 5 or 10% off all purchases. I think if you register early (before sept 30) you'll get 10% off orders. I'm going to re read the sign and I'll post the info.. As right now I'm going by memory

  • wral suks bauls Aug 27, 2014

Thanks! I noticed about of the freebies stew prefrenced with "if your store allows it"... I always thought the zvr would be money makers if you have a coupon to cover the cost of the product. Was there a recent change that made them cut out the "overage" from zvrs? I just got an overage on some products last week so was wondering if something changed

  • uncfan7 Aug 27, 2014

Isn't the q for the Arm & Hammer expired?

  • Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Aug 27, 2014

watchhillgirl - It looks like there are multiple ZVR's out there and some got $3 and some got $5. I got the ZVR for $5 off any Gillette razor.
