The link to your e-coupons are in your Wednesday e-Vic e-mail. Sign up for e-Vic digital coupons on their website. You can also add the e-coupons to your Vic card through your account at HarrisTeeter.com. Remember that not everyone gets the same ZVR coupons. Gunnstigator - love your Breyers comment! lol If you decide to invest in a laser printer, I have had good luck with Brother printers. We have 2 in the house (1 regular old printer and 1 multifunction) and I love them both. Sometimes you can find them new for as low as $40 - $50 and the ink cost is much less than an ink jet. You may be able to find a used one on Craigslist as well.

And just an fyi - HT may have changed something recently in their scanning system because someone at the class Thursday night said her printables don't scan at HT most of the time either.

Thanks for the input, NCCAKEMOM. I've had trouble with store coupons from time to time; Food Lion coupons sometimes don't scan, and it's their own coupon. Technology! At any rate, I'd have to get a spoon and eat that Breyer's right on the spot if it were melting! :)

Faye - thank you for your response! We have an ink jet printer, but we changed the setting to "normal", and the bar code looks fine, but you must be right, as I can't get the coupons to scan anywhere, even using the hand held scanner. At least HT is very cooperative and will key them in manually - only one of the reasons I love HT:)

nccakemom - that is interesting. Are you only having a problem at HT with printables or are you having issues elsewhere?

If the Catalina's were not scanning, I agree that there is an issue with the HT scanners.

  • nccakemom Jul 17, 2014

GUNNSTIGATOR- Ive been having the same problem with my printables, very frustrating. Yesterday it was even the Catalina's so I knew it was a HT problem not just me! It varies for me from register to register as well! But I did make sure to get new ink as well just in case. They did manually key mine in but it took FOREVER!! My evic Breyers ice cream was melting, lol!!!

tarheelswin - thanks for the Infinity deal!

  • Faye Prosser -WRAL Smart Shopper Jul 17, 2014

Gunnstigator - Most of my printable coupons scan just fine. If none of yours are scanning at all, it is probably an issue with your printer not printing a readable bar code. Do you have the quality setting on low? If you have an ink jet with the print quality setting on low that may be the issue. I have a laser printer and it is rare these days that my coupon will not scan. I also recommend you have the cashier use the hand scanner (not the flat register scanner). It is more sensitive and I find that for troublesome coupons, the hand scanner is able to read them.

  • tarheelswin Jul 16, 2014

I was able to get the Always Infinity Pads, 16 count, $4.49 on sale - $2 coupon from 7/6 PG AND $2 HT ZVR = $.49.

  • StunGunn Jul 16, 2014

Faye, Have you had trouble with stores unable to scan coupons you printed at home? None of mine are printing at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Walgreens and Wal-Mart. Most stores are very accommodating and will manually override the register, but I've had trouble at Wal-Mart where cashiers have refused to honor the coupon and have told me I had to go to Customer Service. I don't subscribe to the N&O after 23 years of being a subscriber, but this issue is giving me reason to reconsider. Just wondering what your experience has been with coupons you printed from home. Thanks!
