Harnett County teen shot at home

Posted November 16, 2011

— A 19-year-old faces charges of shooting a 17-year-old at a Lillington home late Tuesday afternoon, Harnett County Sheriff Larry Rollins said.

Tevin Levez Walker, of Lillington, was shot at 944 Shawtown Road around 4:45 p.m., Rollins said.

Walker was taken to a hospital, but authorities did not say which one. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

After a search, deputies arrested Christopher Arnold McArthur, of Lillington, late Tuesday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was placed in the Harnett County Detention Center under a $75,250 secured bond.

Authorities have not commented on a motive in the shooting.

Alright "poeticharm" i'm pretty sure you DON'T know what you are talking about. This was NOT out of self defense at all! You obviously need to keep your nose out of others business. I am pretty sure none of you know the truth unless you were there. I can assure you one thing, don't listen to rumors.. I've heard too much about all of this. Tevin is laying in the hospital because of an ignorant guy trying to start pointless drama. It DOES NOT matter if Tevin did do something wrong & provoked this fight; not saying he did or not.. that gives Chris absolutely no right to shoot. Please know what you are talking about before you decide to have an opinion. To all who say Shawtown is a bad place, do you live there? All you've heard are rumors. Things that happen there once it is spread through out the town or county half of it ain't true anyway. I know both Tevin & Chris.. I know who was there. Chris is most certainly in the wrong. How much ignorance does it take to realize that?

Ok for everyone on here who automatically bashes people without knowing who or why anything happened I wouldnt jump to conclusions I know him and it had nothing to do with drugs for one for another it was self defense, so before you all say something rude about something you all know nothing about think about who its going to effect, someones Son is in jail right now over something that shouldnt have even happened all he was doing was trying to protect someone. Now guns shouldn't have been fired at all but just because the other kid got shot does not automatically mean he is innocent

"At thepeopleschamp, did you not read the comment by Rebelyell55. he was an eyewitness to the fact that HCSD responded but only moved in after several units of backup arrived!" TITAN4X4

So what's wrong with doing that (if that is what happened? That sounds like a reasonable approach to a shooting call. My point was that to say the HCSO doesn't respond to calls there at night at all is rediculous. Whoever would believe such an outrageous assumption has never set foot in a 911 center.

some more youths that were not allowed to play with cap guns as kids and so now they play with the real thing or kids that never learned that sometimes a fist sandwich can solve a lot of problems.

Shawtown ain't that great if a neighborhood. I wouldn't go down that road at night. I been to CCCC across the street but wouldn' go at night.

  • TITAN4X4 Nov 16, 2011

Also @ thepeopleschamp, go wander (walk) around in Shawtown at any time of day or night, then let me know how comfortable you feel. FAIL, FAIL, FAIL

At thepeopleschamp, did you not read the comment by Rebelyell55. he was an eyewitness to the fact that HCSD responded but only moved in after several units of backup arrived! Quote "Was sitting at Shawtown school waiting on guy taking his GED when this happen. 1st deputy pull up at the school, waits, then when back up arrive, about five cars with blue light, then they all went to the house. Watch a group of Shawtown finest, walking down to the house, some riding in back of truck. After about 30 minutes they were back up on their corners in business. CCCC uses the old school, about a block from the shooting. They didn't really lock down the school, since they keep the door locked after a certain time anyway. Didn't know it was shooting until someone came by the car and told me to be careful."

Not a normal LEO response in most of Harnett Co.

davisgw: Spelling is not your high point, is it?

  • TITAN4X4 Nov 16, 2011

Quote "Try getting a HCSD to go in there after dark alone. They'll all be conveniently unavailable." Glass Half Full

I bet almost any LEO will be unavailable at almost any hour if it involves Shawtown. As Rebelyel55 stated, HCSD waited for plenty of backup before proceeding!
Shawtown is a blight on Harnett Co. One house that is fairly new and well kept had boards over the windows last time I went through there.
I used to use Shawtown Rd as a shortcut to get home if I was behind a bus or dumptruck.
