Missing Harnett County K-9 returns home

A Harnett County Sheriff's Office K-9 wandered away on Tuesday, and the office is asking for the public's help finding him.

— A Harnett County Sheriff's Office K-9 officer that wandered away from home on Tuesday returned on Friday and is in good health.

Taz, a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, returned home on Friday morning, according to Maj. Jeff Huber of the Harnett County Sheriff's Office. The K-9 is trained in narcotics detection.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office posted on Facebook that Taz went missing near the intersection of Cool Springs Road and Holly Springs Church Road in Broadway, near Sanford.

    Please keep this fellow in the house or fence, he is too valuable to be allowed to be loose. I am so glad he is back home and safe.
