— A Raleigh man's suspicious behavior led police to search a vacant home at 5457 Blue Sage Drive looking for marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a search warrant returned Friday.

The man, who was not identified in the search warrant and who has not been arrested, drew the attention of authorities on July 4 when officers responding to a call from a neighbor spotted his car in the driveway of the home, which was supposed to be unoccupied.

"The driver was very jittery and nervous," wrote Investigator K.S. Scott in seeking the warrant.

Officers handcuffed the man while they searched his car. They found baggies, cash and the odor of marijuana. The man ran, still wearing the handcuffs, but officers tracked him to his grandparents' home.

Scott used the man's actions and officers' observations through the windows of bongs and marijuana to justify the search of 5457 Blue Sage Drive.

    Tarheelfan41,

No one is getting "too high and mighty." Just stating a fact. And as to the immigration laws, I totally agree with you. We should enforce every immigration law on the books. But, again, it's not the Border Patrol, et al, folks who are selectively enforcing those laws. Have you ever talked with any of them? They're as frustrated as anyone about the situation. It's, as I stated, the politicians who are not allowing the agencies tasked with enforcement of those laws to do their collective jobs. I know. What a shock. A politician doing something at the expense of the country that he/she hopes will benefit him/her politically and personally (votes). Sad, sad situation.

The man was not identified has not been arrested. How is this possible when they tracked him to his grandmother's house?

aaah, I wouldn't get too high and mighty stating they were only enforcing the laws of the land. We selectively enforce the laws we choose to enforce and ignore some others. SEE IMMIGRATION LAWS among others.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++"Folks, don't shoot the messengers. Law enforcement officers take an oath to uphold the laws of this state and nation. They, therefore, are obligated to investigate situations related to this oath. If you guys have a problem with the laws that are being enforced, contact your local legislator. They come up with the statutes that officers are obligated to enforce. Don't blame the cops."
