Halifax deputies seek shooting suspect

HALIFAX, N.C. — Halifax County authorities are looking for a suspect in a shooting that occurred Tuesday in Thelma.

Deputies responding to a call just before 4 p.m. found Dennis Williams in the woods along Jack Brown Road. He had been shot twice. Williams was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids where he was treated and released.

Deputies suspect Keshaun Maurice Coleman, of 305 Madison Street in Roanoke Rapids, in the shooting. A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Anyone with information about Coleman's whereabouts is asked to call Halifax County Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444.
