— The Halifax County Sheriff's Office asked for help from the public Friday in tracking down a man wanted for armed robbery of a Littleton grocer.

Authorities said the suspect, whom witnesses said was a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall wearing a hockey mask and black-and-blue plaid jacket, robbed the Information Grocery, at 8106 U.S. Highway 158, on Thursday.

The suspect fled the store in a blue, four-door Lincoln, witnesses said.

A short time later, the state Highway Patrol was called to a wreck involving a similar car on Everett's School Road. When troopers arrived, no one was with the car.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to to call the Sheriff's office at 252-583-8051.

Seems they need to check out the neighborhood as most wrecks happen a short distance from home. Willing to be the suspect lives close by.
