Halifax County Teen Shot; Suspect in Custody

Halifax, N.C. — A Roanoke Rapids man allegedly shot a teen near the Five Points area of Halifax County, the sheriff's office reported. A reason has not been determined.
According to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office, Justin “Toot-Toot” Harvey, 19, surrendered late Wednesday. He faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and was held held on $50,000 bond.
The alleged victim, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to another hospital for treatment. His condition was not known on Thursday.
