Halifax County men charged with stealing Pit Bull pups

Hollister, N.C. — Two Halifax County men are charged with stealing four Pit Bull puppies from the Dove Lane area in Hollister on Aug. 29.
Sheriff's officials arrested James Tyree Sparkman, 21, of Rocky Mount, and Steven Tywan Reid, 23, of Hollister, and charged them with felony possession of stolen goods.
Authorities were able to recover three of the four stolen puppies. The men sold one of the Pit Bull puppies for $65, officials said.
Each man was held under a $2,000 bond and an Oct. 27 court date.
