— Halifax County authorities arrested a fugitive Wednesday who had been on the run for more than a year.

The sheriff's office received a tip that Terrill Maurice Harrison was at a home on Sycamore Street in south Weldon. Deputies went into the house and arrested him without incident, officials said.

Harrison was arrested for probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while his license was revoked, simple assault and trespassing, authorities said.

Harrison was placed in the Halifax County Jail under a $11,000 bond. His next court date is set for Dec. 7.

$11,000 bond, is this supposed to be a joke? I have seen nothing but low ball bonds for dangerous criminals in Halifax County. Did the law enforcement in that county make the judges mad? Wake up Halifax County!

$11,000 bond - 15% of that is $1,650 (bail bondsman fee) He will be out in no time and they will not be able to find him for ANOTHER year.
