— A Littleton car mechanic is accused of stealing from both his employers and customers, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Daric Pete Pierce, 46, was charged Friday with 31 counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.

Detective Joseph Sealey said that Pierce used his employers' company accounts to order auto parts and accessories for his personal use. He also took money from customers who never received the parts they ordered, Sealey said.

He urged anyone who has done business with Pierce to call Halifax County Sheriff's Office at 252-583-8201.

Although it sounds like this guy from Halifax was a cheat & liar, Silverflash, I wouldn't say MOST mechanics are cheaters and liars. That is stereotyping a group of hardworking professionals. Do you realize mechanics work on their feet - sometimes up to 12 hours a day to fix their customers cars? Also, how about the mechanics who stay late almost every night because someone broke down on the road (next to the dealership) and he/she needs to get home to their family, work, meeting, etc...Sometimes these mechanics will work on the car for FREE to help people get to their destinations. I'm sorry you don't have a good mechanic - I can give you the name of one. I've been married to him for 17 years

it's very difficulty to find a good mechanic. MOST are cheaters and liars in my opinion. That's my personal experience talking. I do all the work i can do on my own and pray when i have to take it somewhere to have someone else work on it.

If he is guilty of this can you imagine how many repairs he did that were not needed. Went to a AAA car care 10 months ago, for an oil change, they documented that the car needed $1900.00 in needed repairs. It did not. I even had a pro check out the car.

Halifax County's finest... Wonder how much money he made stealing from others. Bet he made his bond with that money! If he didn't get a unsecured bond.
