Gunshot victim died from chest wound

A man killed in a shooting last month in Harnett County died from a shotgun wound to the chest, according to an autopsy report released Monday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A man killed in a shooting last month in Linden died from a shotgun wound to the chest, according to an autopsy report released Monday.

Harnett County sheriff's deputies said Christopher Shane Brock shot and killed Michael Wayne Wright, on July 18 after Wright allegedly went to his home and threatened him.

The two had been fighting over an ex-girlfriend, authorities said.

Wright, 29, also suffered from shotgun wounds to the right arm, neck and head, the autopsy, from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill, found.
