SELMA, N.C. — Selma police believe that armed, masked men targeted homes occupied by women during two break-ins early Friday.

Investigators said that two men wearing ski masks and armed with handguns broke into homes on Teal Court and Southern Street within three hours of each other.

In each instance, the men forced women to take off their clothes at gunpoint, police said. One woman told police that she was fondled.

The gunmen also took cash and jewelry from the women.

No one was injured, police said.

Officers said that they believe both incidents are connected and that they were actively searching for the gunmen.
