Gunfire doesn't stop Sanford Christmas parade
City of Sanford officials said Wednesday that they will hold a second Christmas Parade this weekend after the first one was interrupted by gunfire early this month.

The parade is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sunday and will run through downtown. It will start on Steele Street before tuning on Wicker and then Moore streets, officials said.
Two people were injured on Dec. 5 when shots were fired during the initial parade.
Sean Dimitrius Matthews, 18, of Sanford, was critically injured in the incident, and Jadakis Tysor, 16, of Sanford, suffered minor injuries.
Shortly after the shooting, authorities arrested 20-year-old Deion Jamille Johns, of 1508 Westover Drive.
Johns was charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm within city limits, possession of a weapon at a parade and going armed to the terror of the people.
Johns was jailed under a $360,000 secured bond.
