ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Two men and a woman staying at Gold Rock Inn and Suites, 7655 N.C. Highway 48, told Rocky Mount police that four armed men robbed them shortly after midnight Saturday.

One guest had just returned from Denny's when four men armed with handguns knocked, then forced their way in the room, police said. They ordered the occupants on the floor and searched the room.

They stole a briefcase, keys, gold chains, a cell phone, pocketbook and wallet, police said. The men sprayed mace throughout the room, then fled.

The men wore black jackets and gloves. They were last seen driving a dark Chevrolet Suburban south on N.C. Highway 48.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspects
