TARBORO, N.C. — Wednesday's funeral services for Sgt. Blake Williams, of Tarboro, who was killed on March 22 while in action in Iraq, have been moved to the Keihin Auditorium on the Tarboro Campus of Edgecombe Community College.

Williams, 26, a member of the North Carolina Army National Guard, was serving his second tour in Iraq when he was killed by a roadside bomb.

The National Guard said the site for the services had been moved "to accommodate the high number of citizens wishing to attend the Wednesday 3:30 p.m. service."

Williams was one of three members of the 1132nd Military Police Company, headquartered in Rocky Mount, killed near Baghdad when an improvised explosive device struck their vehicle while on patrol.

Also killed in the explosion was Sgt. Thomas C. Ray, 40, of Weaverville.

Ray's funeral was scheduled for Tuesday morning in Weaverville.
