Group home worker, owner's husband faces sex charges

Raleigh, N.C. — A man who works at a group home has been charged with having sex with a woman who lives at the home, according to arrest warrants.
NNamdi Godson Nwankwo, 53, of 527 Breswall Court in Rolesville, was charged Tuesday with second-degree forcible rape and sexual activity by a substitute parent.
Two officers on patrol along Merrell Drive in east Raleigh saw a suspicious car in a secluded area at about 10 a.m. Tuesday and found Nwankwo in the car with a 47-year-old woman, police said.
The two people were not fully clothed, and police immediately noticed the female victim had a possible cognitive impairment. According to the warrant, the victim's mental capacity did not give her the ability to provide consent.
Authorities determined the victim was a resident of Destiny Family Cary Homes, which is located at 3509 Allendale Dr. in Raleigh. The facility is owned and operated by Nwankwo's wife
He was being held in the Wake County jail under a $1.5 million bond.
