Group dedicates school replacing 1 destroyed by tornado

Posted August 7

— Officials have dedicated a new building that replaces a private, religious school destroyed by an eastern Pennsylvania tornado more than two years ago.

Sunday's dedication came nine months after a groundbreaking on the new Blue Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School.

An EF1 tornado blew the roof off the old building in Tilden Township on July 9, 2015, leaving only parts of its brick walls standing.

The new building is energy-efficient and was built using precast concrete walls with insulation built into them.

The building is stocked with desks, books and other equipment and will be ready when school begins Aug. 15.
