Greenville police capture machete bandit suspects

Greenville police arrested two men Tuesday in connection with multiple armed robberies involving machetes.

GREENVILLE, N.C. — Greenville police arrested two men Tuesday in connection with multiple armed robberies involving machetes.

Travis Deshawn Branch, 24, was arrested Tuesday morning after authorities responded to an armed robbery at the Kangaroo on Charles Boulevard. Authorities arrested Branch after chasing him on foot near Rose High School. Several items from the robbery including a machete were recovered at the time Branch was arrested. 

Another suspect, Travis Lorenzo Moye, 22, was arrested late Tuesday. Both men were charged with five counts of armed robbery, authorities said. 

Branch was also charged with larceny, breaking and entering and obtaining property by false pretense. He is being held on $500,000 secured bond.
