Greenville police bust sex assault suspect

— A Greenville man was arrested early Saturday and charged with rape and burglary.

According to police, a pregnant woman woke up to find Troy David Kinchen, 29, assaulting her. Kinchen ran from her home, but was tracked by K-9 officers to a nearby wooded area where he was arrested.

Kinchen, of 421 East Bend Drive, is charged with burglary, rape, assault by strangulation and communicating threats. He was being held at the Pitt County Detention Center on $1.1 million bond.

The victim was being treated at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

    It is unfortunate that society ranks this as one of those tolerable crimes and allows them to be out in the street.

    Another person who's sexual preference is rape.
