OXFORD, N.C. — Oxford police arrested a Granville County school teacher Monday after they say they found child pornography on his computer.

Larry Wayne Morgan, of Seaman Street, was charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. He was released on a $20,000 bond.

Chief J.M. Wolford said that tips spurred the investigation into Morgan by Oxford police and State Bureau of Investigation. Investigators found computer files and discs belonging to Morgan that depicted underage youth engaged in sexual acts, he said.

Wolford said there has been no evidence that Morgan had physical contact with a Granville student or any minor. He is the sole focus of the investigation.

Morgan taught seventh-grade at Northern Granville Middle School in Oxford and had been with the school system for several years, said Allen Jordan, assistant superintendent with the Granville County School System.

He was suspended Oct. 7 when the school system learned of the investigation, Jordan said. His continued employment depends on the outcome of the investigation.
