Governor Greg Abbott Orders Flags Lowered In Honor Of Fallen Officer

Governor Greg Abbott has ordered that Texas flags in the City of San Antonio to be lowered to half-staff in honor of fallen Officer Miguel Moreno, through July 3rd, 2017. Officer Moreno was a nine-year veteran of law enforcement who lost his life in the line of duty following a shooting on Thursday, June 29th.

AUSTIN — Governor Greg Abbott has ordered that Texas flags in the City of San Antonio to be lowered to half-staff in honor of fallen Officer Miguel Moreno, through July 3rd, 2017. Officer Moreno was a nine-year veteran of law enforcement who lost his life in the line of duty following a shooting on Thursday, June 29th.

"This is a sad day for the San Antonio community, and the entire state of Texas, as we mourn the death of Officer Miguel Moreno," said Governor Abbott in a statement.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick also commented on the death of Officer Moreno by saying "Today, we join will all of San Antonio in greiving the loss of a nine-year veteran police officer of the San Antonio Police Department, Miguel Moreno."
