Goodmons honored for Full Frame support

The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival will honor two long-time supporters with the 2014 Advocate Award when the festival opens April 3.

DURHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival will honor two long-time supporters with the 2014 Advocate Award when the festival opens April 5. Jim Goodmon, CEO of Capitol Broadcasting (parent company of WRAL-TV and WRAL.com) and owner of the Durham Bulls, and his son, Michael Goodmon, vice president of real estate at Capitol Broadcasting, have both played key roles in the growth of the annual documentary film festival over its 17-year run in Durham.

Full Frame makes its home on the CBC-owned American Tobacco Campus, where it has theater, classroom, gallery and meeting space.

“Without a doubt, Full Frame tops anyone’s list of things that are quintessentially Durham," Michael Goodmon said. "We are honored to have played a very small role in its success and look forward to many more years of this cultural powerhouse.”

The Full Frame Advocate Award recognizes contributions of individuals who support the documentary medium and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. "Certainly Jim and Michael have exemplified this with their unwavering commitment to the festival throughout the years,” said Full Frame’s Director Deirdre Haj.

Previous recipients of the Advocate Award are Molly Thompson, president of A&E IndieFilms, and longtime Full Frame advisor Wyndham Robertson.
