OK, lets hear from all our proud Veterans here in Golo land! What branch of service were/are you in, when, where did you serve?? Share your experiences with us! Me, I was on the USS Forrestal from August 3, 1967 til Dec 2, 1969....the day I was scheduled to go on board, she pulled out of port 4 hrs earlier (Subic bay, Philippines). We spent two weeks waiting to get on an oiler to be high-lined across...when we got out there in the Tonkin Gulf, the Forrestal was on fire w/ bombs going off on the flight deck The date was July 29, 1967. Google "USS Forrestal CVA 59"to get all the info.....it was one helluva ride home!

Boy, do *I* sound bitter, LOL. I'm not really, but dayum, I'm not eligible for all these memberships and groups. I mean I really feel snubbed, like I'm not a 'real' vet or somthing. I've got more that three times the service years as lots of other members but it don't count for doo-doo.. *sigh*
