I've thought about joining many times, but am still on the fence. I have a severe distrust of ANY lobbying group, and sometimes feel like the NRA is just an extension of the right-wing in American politics. They remind me of organized religion in a way. I don't feel like either party should own the 2nd amendment. And as much as Dems as a party want to disown it - that doesn't mean it then exclusively belongs to the right. Just like organized religion, I know the NRA does a lot of good work - but I worry that they overextend themselves politically.
I haven't ruled out joining by any means, but I still need to learn more I guess. Either way, I look forward to talking up firearms with everyone!
